He can just reappear in another new body. Was no one else bothered by this? Maybe it was just me… The character that stood out for most gamers was the primary villain and antagonist for the story, Sephiroth. The writers did an excellent job of creating a villain with a compelling background story. His story is deep enough that at certain points of the game you find yourself sympathizing with his situation. This is an element of the game that was executed better than almost every other Final Fantasy title. Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX had final bosses and villains that basically appear out of thin air and aren't involved in the majority of the plot (of each respective game). Final Fantasy X almost had the same issue, but they did spend some time adding clarity around who (or what) Sin was and tying it back to Tidus' story. Sephiroth is the character that leaves a lasting impression. From the first interactions early on in the game where he and the main characters are friends, to watching him slowly go mad from the realization of who and what he is, to the final battle against him in the core of the planet (namely, the very last scene).
"The 'normal' exercise of hegemony on the now classical terrain of the parliamentary regime is characterized by the combination of force and consent, which balance reciprocally, without force predominating excessively over consent. " Gramsci 1971 pg. 215 in Storey 1994. Even though Gramsci does not believe there is a leading group however there is unstable different social classes and some of these social classes or rulers makes others feel dominated. Hegemonies are similar to physical and psychological factors only difference is that hegemonies are more focused on race, gender and class. For other social classes hegemony is a struggle against domination. Gender, race and class build up the hegemony system. Some people find themselves with certain habitual voices because their natural voice has been trapped inside as they have no power over what is happening around them so they feel the need to follow what society has to give them as there are already dominated. For women their gender makes them more oppressed because of the social system built to make women seem as inferior to men so this means that their voices need to be confined when talking to a man, this becomes a habitual voice.
